Our Ministry

What WellSpring SC Offers

The heart of our ministry includes, but is not limited to women who were sexually abused as children. It’s our desire to see a woman from any walk of life who struggles with whatever it is she’s struggling with to find that beautiful exchange that can only be found through Jesus Christ.

Simply stated, we can’t muster up enough willpower to truly forgive on our own.  It’s through Christ in us that we are able to experience true freedom when we exchange our deepest hurts for His greatest grace.

To state it another way, it’s by allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us as only He can.

Those to whom we minister find it comforting to experience His healing  through the sweetness of His presence as we pray through situations together.

There is no charge for the services offered by Wellspring SC at The Wellhouse.  Funding comes from Wellspring Treasures Thrift Store.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time." - Psalm 34:18-19

Jenny's Story

Luke 15:4-6 "Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, "Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep."

I am the one sheep. And the Shepherd found me in the darkest pit of selfishness and hopelessness that mankind can dig for themselves. My life was a desolate wasteland of ashes from adultery, alcohol and a refusal to turn back to Jesus. I had ripped my family apart with adultery and a refusal to give up a man I felt I deserved. Alcohol was my numbing agent so I didn't have to feel the weight of my own destruction. It took me to the ends of the roads of jealousy, self-loathing, lying, cheating and finally, despair. My selfishness cost me nearly everything in my life besides my children and my parents, including my job, home, friends and church.

It was in this darkest place that my mother handed me hope. My mom is a Wellspring Treasures Thrift Store volunteer and she gave me the name of a woman I could call to meet. I was hesitant. First, because I had abandoned any hope of returning to Jesus because my sin was so great! Secondly, because I had tried counseling before and found it to be unhelpful.

The Hands of our Lord move us to places so we can find His light! At my most desperate hour, I arranged to meet Madonna Hines for a ministry session. I envisioned sitting on a couch and telling her my sad story while she recommended some verses and then prayed for me. I told her on the phone that I was not in a place spiritually where I was able to reach out to God. She explained to me that she would be praying with me and letting the Holy Spirit work through her. I was not very hopeful, but I was willing to try.

When I arrived at Wellspring, she met me with a smile and a hug. She brought me into a cozy room and I expected a million questions. She asked only a couple and then told me that she was going to pray and enter into a time where the Holy Spirit would speak to us. I sat quietly and waited. Friends, let me tell you that as she began to speak to the Holy Spirit, He began to speak to me! The Holy Spirit began to gently and beautifully heal me of hurts so long inside me, I felt they would be there forever. Madonna was the vessel, but the Holy Spirit was so present that it was like being on hallowed ground.

As she was used by Jesus, I was broken and also set free!! Chains were broken and the power of Jesus Christ pulled out wounds and scars and hurts along with every root they had ever planted inside me!! I was changed permanently during the sweetest time I have ever encountered. But there was also a battle, spiritual war over my soul as the Holy Spirit released me from my chains. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so thick you could almost hope to see it with your eyes!!

The Holy Spirit had climbed into my disgusting pit of sin, lifted me up out of my own mess and carried me to set my feet upon the rock!! This broken and dirty woman left Wellspring that night an entirely new creation!! My life was still in ashes, but my heart was not. Over the course of weeks and months, Jesus answered prayers and needs in ways I could not have ever seen!! As I put my face before Him, He carried me on His shoulders and rejoiced that I had come home! Madonna never stopped praying for me. She encouraged my heart and shared in the joys and triumphs the Lord chose to extend to me.

Life will always bring mountains and valleys, sometimes of our own making and sometimes simply from life. However, there is no place that the Holy Spirit will not go to bring us back. There is no mess too dirty and no pit too dark for our Jesus!! Wellspring SC ministries allows themselves to be used by God in radical ways so that others can come to know Him and be rescued by His mighty hands!!

A grace based mixture of ministries under one roof.
